MongoLab provides remote hosting for MongoDB databases.
You can choose from several hosting types:
- Shared plans, where your database is on the same host as other customers. While this is the most affordable choice, it’s also the slowest.
- Dedicated plans, where your database is on it’s own host(s). This provides better performance, and is more expensive.
- For the dedicated plans, you can choose which cloud computing service to use. They currently support Amazon Web Services, Joyent and Rackspace.
There is also a free tier that you can use, as long as your data-set is below a certain size (512 MB as of March 2013). Detailed pricing can be found on their pricing page.
If you are currently using MongoLab, or have used it recently, please comment on what you like/dislike about it. This will let other readers know what to expect, and help them select the best service for their needs. Thanks!
